  • Coincidence or Intuition?

    2008 - 09.22

Have you ever been strolling along in the shopping mall. You look up and spy a friend that you had just been thinking about that morning? You rush up and say what a coincidence, I was just thinking about you? Is it coincidence or your intuition?

You get in your car to go to work, you always turn right, but for some reason you turn left. On the news that night, you hear of a fatal accident-right where you would have been if you hadn’t turned the opposite way. Again, coincidence or intuition?

So often we think, wow, what a coincidence. But is it really? Or is it our psychic sense telling us something.

I know many of you are going to say, well, I’m not the least bit psychic.

My belief has always been that we are all born at least a little psychic. It’s just that some of us have developed that ability to a much greater degree.

My Mom will swear she’s not psychic (while telling everyone that she’s the psychic’s Mom), yet I can’t tell you how many times, when I’m calling, she’ll pick up the phone and say Hi Honey. (No she doesn’t call everyone honey) Just my dad and me. (of course, she has a few other loving names for us, too)

On the premise that we are all a little bit psychic, let’s look at some situations that have happened in my own life. I do not believe that any of these were coincidence.

My husband and I had decided to move down to Texas back in 1979. We took 2 cars and piled everything we owned in them. When we got to the Arkansas border, we found travel virtually at a stand still. Arkansas had gotten the worst ice/snow storm that they had ever had. Because most of the people had never even driven in snow, much less ice, traffic was barely moving. It took us about 8-9 hours to get 100 miles. At one point, Dennis informed me that we needed to find a rest area because he had to adjust something on his car. We finally got off the interstate on this very dark, very lonely road. He started to fix the car when I said to him, we have to get off this road now. Just a minute, Cyn, it’ll only take a few more minutes. NO, Dennis, NOW. He looked at me and said, ok, I can’t see much anyway. We traveled about a 1/4 of a mile up the road, found the only piece of dry pavement in probably 100 miles, turned around, and headed back toward the interstate when a truck came fast down the road. If Dennis hadn’t listened to me, I wouldn’t be writing about this now. We made it back on the highway, found a place to stop, and finally got away from all the ice.

Travel a few years later. I was divorced and seeing Mike. We had decided to take a trip to Niagara Falls. The night before, I kept having dreams of funerals, accidents, black shrouds. I got up the next morning, and decided not to listen to my intuition. We started out for the Falls. Just on the west side of Rochester, our muffler fell off. (at the time, I was driving a Chevy Sprint) the darn car was so loud, we couldn’t even hear each other talk!!!! It was my spirit guide basically telling me-Stupid? Will you listen to me now??? We got the muffler fixed, and took our trip to the falls about a month later.

Another time, one of my children were in a scary situation. I kept getting bombarded with images of what was going to happen. Finally when she and I connected, I shared with her what I had been seeing. She told me she was fine and everything was under control. It wasn’t until a few years later that she told me how close my visions were. Then, I almost fainted. And I don’t mean to be so vague on this one, but the situation was quite personal.

There was another time that I kept feeling like I hadn’t done something I should have-lock all the doors. But I would check them every night. Except for one, because we never used that one. Finally one night, I figured, well, I’ll just check it once. Yep, you guessed it-it was unlocked and had been for 2 weeks. I know, it took me awhile to finally get it through my thick skull. We had used that door to move in the house, and it just never occurred to me it might be open.

Because I work in a retail store, it’s nothing unusual to run in to people I know. But I no longer say what a coincidence it is when I’ve been thinking about them, and they finally show up. It almost always happens. It’s just my intuition telling me that I’ll be seeing them soon.

So, pay attention next time you get that “feeling” And think about the many times you have had your intuition “knock” on your “door”

And believe that everyone is a little psychic.

    Till next time.

*sigh*…yes, but what I experience is that people don’t listen to me. I realize it’s because they are not sensing the same things. Even when they see that I am often right (after the fact), they count it up as ‘luck’, and still don’t listen. Any advice for me in handling it? It’s not often I speak out, but when I do, this is very frustrating.

    2. It sounds like quite a bit of synchronicity to me.

I moved from So. Cal to No. Cal, leaving everything behind or giving it away. After a couple of weeks I said to myself that I had to at least go out and get a microwave, vcr, vegetable steamer, food processor and a television. Later in the afternoon I took my daughter downtown to a beading class. On the way, there was a garage sale on the road leading to downtown. I found that odd since it was almost 4pm and garage sales are usually over by 2 or 3pm.

On my way home, after dropping her off I pulled into the apartment complex to see what was left. Sitting on the table in front of the spot I pulled into was (all grouped together) a tv, vcr, food processor, microwave and vegetable steamer. I’m dead serious. I asked how much and she said since it was the so late and didn’t want to take it back in the house, $40.00 for everything. The tv was a 25″ color.

This happens to me often. How it’s done is not a mystery. Those that dwell with me know what I need already based on thoughts I’ll have here and there throughout the day. That garage sale and my arrival time was a complete set up. It was put together beforehand. What is a mystery and somewhat scary part is how did they keep others from buying (throughout the day) what was set up for me to buy at the very end of the day.

What remained on the table after I had loaded everything into my Jeep was this plastic vase with a synthetic rose in it. The women turned her head to look at me as I was looking at the rose. She then walked up to it, picked it up and gave it to my daughter. Too weird.

I have synchronistic events happen to me every where I go and on any given day. Possibly someone dwelling in your midst was privy to your friend going to the shopping mall that day and a thought was put in place, (a prompt of sorts) for you to think about that person beforehand. That’s their subtle way of telling you that they’re with you since everything must be subtle and not blatant. As well, there may have been a more important reason that you ran into that friend but haven’t figured it out.

Test it. Think about something you need (not want) and see if it mysteriously appears in your midst when you’re no longer thinking about it.
